A Brief Update

It's been a while since I posted, so I figure that it's time for an update.

We're currently in the busy season at my day job, so my hours have doubled there, leaving me with an excess of funds, and a huge need for free time. Instead of spending it making content for the site, or even gaming(for the most part), I've been working on the new site.

There's a lot of features I've been trying to get integrated before we go live on the new page, including a feed from our yet-to-be setup YouTube page, podcast delivery(including an RSS feed so you can subscribe through iTunes, WinAmp, or the program of your choosing), and a forum.

The last one is the "really interesting" feature that I'd like to talk about now, though. Instead of allowing anonymous comments on our pages, where spambots can go balls out with URLs and fake product endorsements, instead we're going to have a forum for readers to use for general gaming discussion, semi-in-depth conversation about the topics delivered in our editorials, healthy debates about games we review and opinions you have on them, and just overall general discussion. The idea behind this is that this gives a better way to keep discussion open, while also offering us some more control over moderation, as it just generally allows for more individual accountability. In time, I hope that we'll develop a well-balanced community that can carry on a reasonable discourse without devolving into flame wars(Who am I kidding, this is the internet).

Some things have taken more time to implement than others, but I'm working as fast as I can, and I apologize for the delays.

In other news, the first podcast(we did a 4th or 5th beta cast, but we weren't entirely happy with how it came out) was recorded on the 4th, and has been edited for some time, though we haven't had a lot of time to record lately, so I'm holding onto it for a bit longer, either until the site launches, or we have another episode primed and in the can.

Lastly, there have been some technical issues on my end, having recieved a defective capture card(I just RMA'ed it a few hours ago), and having my Steam account currently awaiting verification from Steam support due to making a high volume of purchases lately(and missing some great sales during this time).

Things are still progressing here, though not as public-facing as I'd like, though properly prioritizing has never really been a skill in my wheelhouse. I just figured I'd break this period of radio silence and let everyone know how things are going.
